Spring Wine Tasting
Spring – ‘A Journey through Spain’
Thursday 22nd March
This year we will be hosting four wine tasting sessions in conjunction with the wonderful Jo McLean of Wine Savvy . These evenings are planned as relaxed, enjoyable & informative and cover a range of carefully chosen wines paired with regional dishes from a wide variety of countries. You will be sure to find a session which piques your interest!
On each of these nights Jo will showcase a selection of up to seven wines, including a reception drink, these wines will be paired with a multi course tasting menu following the theme of the session. Each wine will be described in detail – tasting with and without her paired dish – showing how wines change when tasted with food and describing its structure in detail.
This year St Julians will be offering its members who attend a 10% discount card that can be used in the club against any bottle of list wine (not wines served by the glass) for three months following the session you attend. Giving you the opportunity to enjoy the wines Jo chooses from our extensive list at your leisure upon your next visit.

The South African Wine Collection
September 27th – 7:30pm
South Africa is home to the oldest wine industry outside of Europe. The country has emerged as one of the best value and highest quality regions for both red and white wine.
Wines for Asian Flavours
November 1st – 7:30pm
Asian dishes presents a whole new challenge in thinking about how flavors work together. Staple ingredients like soy sauce, chile paste, ginger, lemongrass, kaffir lime leaves & hoisin all pack a punch. Spices & herbs such as cardamom, cumin, coriander and garam masala are not meek in aroma or flavor, especially since they’re often used in combination. Wonderful as they are, flavors like these can flatten out many wines, almost all of us still reach for a beer. In this class Jo will lead us through a collection of wines from around the world that can be paired with these exciting dishes and compliment the lively flavours from the dishes while maintaining the vibrancy of the wines.
The price for each evening is £50 per person which includes our exciting tasting menu, wines and access to Jo’s incredible knowledge on wines. If you are interested in any of our dates – please call and book direct with me or ideally e-mail me on this address to reserve your space. A £10 deposit will be taken for each session booked.
Please remember that Jo’s sessions are restricted in size to ensure everyone attending can benefit from her expertise.
