We enjoyed a wonderful August and we particularly love being able to offer table service, as well as greeting all our members as they arrive at the welcome desk, and we expect these to be permanent changes!
Going into September, we are remaining with our 8am to 8pm opening hours, with the whole Club open including the main pool and tennis courts, coffees served from 8am and breakfast served from 8:30am. The main pool is lovely at this time of year and is a toasty 30.2 degrees celsius.
The Daily Menu is available from 12noon to 8pm; our menus change every couple of weeks and can easily be found on the website. Our famous roast rib of beef is available on Sundays which is a firm favourite for many members! We do recommend booking a table for a Sunday lunch particularly as we return to our cosy indoor tables.
We are happy to now be able to accommodate members from two households on one table inside or out, up to a maximum of six.
We know that many members are wondering when we will change our guest rules. We feel very strongly that limiting guests had made a big difference to how we have been able to help facilitate social distancing guidelines and make St Julians a safe environment for members and staff alike.
However, we also appreciate that members would like to be able to bring their close friends and family to St Julians with them. With this in mind, we are increasing the number of guests to two adult guests per adult member, to visit the Club socially.
Unfortunately, we also feel that the time is not right to start allowing child guests to visit the Club and we are still not able to accommodate guests for swimming or tennis.
We are lucky at St Julians to have a secure fast fibre internet connection and we know that many members like to use the Club for working. With the colder months approaching, we are anticipating members dining in all the rooms at St Julians. As our seating capacity is much reduced to facilitate social distancing, we will be reserving our tables in the bar, restaurant, lounge and conservatory for dining, therefore we have decided to dedicate the gallery exclusively for our members to quietly work from home, Monday to Friday. It is now prepared with small tables, well-spaced out and each with its own plug point; we are pleased to be able to reserve these tables for you by prior arrangement.
We are slowly bringing back some of our regular events at the Club, where social distancing and our new guest rules allow. The first to return is our quarterly wine tasting evening on Thursday 24th September.
This time Jo from Wine Savvy will be exploring flavours, showcasing how the same wines differ when paired with various foods. Not to be missed for wine lovers out there – £55 per person to include five tasting wines with the accompanying meal as well as Jo’s expertise!
The vegetable garden has once again been supplying the kitchen with tomatoes, cucumbers, aubergine, courgettes, beetroot and lettuce. Many of the ingredients in our garden salad throughout the summer were from our own kitchen gardens!
We have also been growing flowers which make up many of the beautiful arrangements in the Club.
Our woodland walk is stunning in autumn and is great for a family stroll after lunch. Click here for the map – there are red markers to guide you.
