Hello from all of us at St Julians!
Many members have asked what our plans are for opening now that restrictions have been relaxed.
We appreciate that it is becoming more acceptable to visit open spaces and play sports including tennis, however St Julians falls into the category of leisure facilities and restaurants with outdoor space which are still closed. With this in mind, as well as the safety of all members and staff, we have made the decision to remain fully closed for the time being.
It does look as though we may be able to open, at least in part, as soon as 4 July. We intend to make St Julians a safe environment for staff and members with social distancing measures in place.
We are reviewing the advice constantly. Please keep an eye on our emails, social media, and website for information.
We are very grateful to the many members who have decided to renew their membership while we are closed. You will find details of the discounts we are offering to those who continue with their membership during closure on our website.
Groundsmen Mike and Richard have now returned from furlough to help us keep the gardens, grounds and pools lovely ready for re-opening.
We are also doing a bit of decorating around the place but don’t worry, it won’t be a drastic change! We are painting behind the bar and giving the cellars a refurbishment while they are empty. Following our five star hygiene rating in the restaurant we have been pleased to be able to finish off the kitchen refurbishment while closed.
Many members will recognise Kitty who lives at St Julians and works behind the bar when we are open. Our staff mixologist Danny is furloughed so she has stepped up to make some St Julians drink recipe tutorials for you all. So far she had posted our iced coffee and espresso martini recipe and methods, and you can find them on our Facebook and Instagram pages.
